(FFMECo) was set up to provide quaternary medical technology in Nigeria and has served as the sole representative of SIEMENS Healthcare, Germany (No. 1 in the world for high-end diagnostic imaging and therapeutic equipment worldwide and a proven leader in the Nigerian market) for almost 26 years.

In this time,we have acquired the expertise to lead the market in terms of product performance and technical support. FFMECo also has representative business relationships in Nigeria with SIRONA Dental Systems, Carestream USA and Landwind China. Medicine & Healthcare Africa is out to bridge that gap by providing research, training and continuing medical education for healthcare personnel across all fields.

MHA is a private, non-governmental Medical Resource Centre devoted to the development, growth and upliftment of Medicine and Healthcare on the continent of Africa.

Our goal is to build capacity for healthcare development amongst all healthcare personnel and to re-orientate the population for the 21st century world, and in so doing retain the agility to respond to crises, meet current gaps and anticipate the future

Our passionate commitment to healthcare is built on the premise that without health, life and living are stripped of meaning and value.

This forms the basis for committing a sizeable chunk of our resources to education, training, research, and information aimed at changing the Landscape of Medicine and Healthcare from what it is now to what it should be.

Beyond the Technologies

The vision to change the landscape of Medicine and Healthcare in Africa provided the background for the conception of a Resource Centre which will fill out the wide and deepening gulf in the structure, organization and management of healthcare in the country.

This gap is noticeable in education, training, research and dissemination of information. Healthcare practitioners have become less informed, less confident and poorer than hitherto; and capacity for future improvement is becoming increasingly remote.

Added to this, is the fact that the management resource for control and evaluation directed towards healthcare is very much absent. The issues involved here go beyond the provision of medical technology.

Raising the standard in healthcare is not solely dependent on riding on the crest of technology, but on building capacity through education, training, research and information.
